History

Builder Direct Group/My Fireplace was founded in 1996, by owner Scott North. The main focus of
the business was to provide London’s new home construction market with all the best home comfort
products available. My Fireplace has grown to be one of the industry’s largest suppliers of gas fireplaces,
heating/air conditioning, ductwork, and elegant wood mantles. Our services grew from supporting not
only London’s market but has spread to support builders in St. Thomas, Strathroy, Sarnia, Chatham,
Woodstock, Paris, Branford, and Grand Bend.

We have successfully blossomed into a full retail provider of these products in 2001 with the opening
of the first 2200 square ft. showroom located off of Exeter Road in London. Since the opening, we have
continued to expand our product offerings to include a full line of Barbeque product accessories, wood
fireplaces, stone mantles, and a 24 hour emergency service.

The city’s tremendous growth to the North has demanded the opening of a second 2200 square ft.
showroom located at the corner of Gainsborough Road and Wonderland Road (Sherwood Forest Mall)
in London. This showroom displays a full line of high end home comfort products including brand names
such as Lennox, York, Vermont Castings/Majestic, Heat N’ Glo, Marquis, Town and Country, Napoleon,
Security Chimney, Osburn, Broil King, Weber, and Ducane.
